Love mine, but don't see him getting the asking price. Thinking in great condition 1k to 1500.
Hopefully soon I can get my cross overs upgraded. Love the soft sound that the cone drivers put out.
good break from ribbons. Think concenus will be very highly regarded speakers.
 
Used to sell these back in the day (college employment at an audio shop). Very good speaker when placed correctly in-room. I'm not sure what they cost new, but it wasn't anywhere near as high as is being asked in the add you linked. IIRC they sold new for around $1100? Of course that was in 1980 dollars.
 
3,300.00 is way overpriced. Even here in NJ, I bought mine with just refoamed drivers for $1000. And not long ago, there were a pair sold for $600 on EBay.
 
I see guys on Portland, OR Craigslist that have been asking whatever they want for years! Guess they can ask high prices, but the stuff never sells.
 
Seller is looking for offers obviously .... They are a very sweet speaker though. Would like to own a set again one day.
 
When asking a premium price, speakers should be complete. These are missing the foam pieces that go around the mids and tweets.

Price is subjective to how complete a restoration is, ... these are not complete.

That's strange too. I agree, most AR9 pictures don't show the foam. But, I have to assume that the foam inserts weren't available at the time of release of the speakers, as my AR90s do have the foam, and the 90s were released after the 9s. Maybe the following model year?
 
Obviously fishing to see how much he can get for them. There are better deals around, including a pair that njpheonix sold here on Barter Town that were fully restored. I know, 'cos I restored them.
