Wow are they clean. The oak finish goes great with that grill cloth to. Any listening impressions yet?

Thanks Brian! Yes, they amazingly clean. The date on the 1 woofer I pulled was Sept. 1983. There is not 1 scratch, gouge, nick, stain or anything untoward on either cabinet. Both grills are absolutely perfect. Not a hole, tear, tug or pill to be found. Even the feet show not even a sign of a vacuum cleaner bump. Just amazing for 30 year-old speakers. Sadly, the spring connectors are so far gone I'm having trouble getting a good enough connection to do much more than making certain that all of the drivers work; which they all do. I'm waiting on replacement binding posts from PE and need to figure out how to pull the (well glued) x-over boards from the cabs without destroying them. I'm, actually, hesitant to recap them until I can give them a real listen. So far, with poor connections, they seem to be quite "airy" and open. The bass is there and seems fast and tight without any "boomy-ness". Certainly not chest-thumping bass, but quite honest. I really can't wait to get the connectors replaced so I can give them a proper listen.
The best part? The wife likes their looks, especially after I told her that they need to be placed against the wall. I like the fact that they're likely too shallow to make for a proper plant-stand.

Someone took excellent care of them and it certainly shows 30 years later. You don't find vintage speakers in that kind of shape very often as I'm sure you know. Good luck to you in getting the board out without destroying it. As I remember when I redid my 400's I had to use the teeth on a claw hammer to pry it out. I got both of them out without breaking anything to. But I had to use a new board anyways as there's not enough room for the bigger Dayton caps.
That series does like being close to the wall. And they do have a nice waf don't they. Give your wife a little time and she'll figure out a way to put stuff on the top. It took my wife a while but she's found a way to get knick knacks on that small top.

I've got a pair of 150s with the same SEAS drivers and they are very smooth and image like crazy. The bass was always the weak point on them so I always wondered about the 200s with their bigger cabinets and if that would improve the bass. Let me know I am quite curious.
