Audio Technica AT7V, Signet?

Are you stating that the ATN140LC stylus is more enjoyable than the ATN7V stylus mounted on the AT7V or the ATN140LC stylus mounted on the AT7V is more enjoyable than it is mounted on the At120?
Doing some searching after reading this post,I found this remark made on Vinyl Asylum regarding the stylus shape.

Good pic for comparision, 'cause here you can see what I meant: The sides of the diamond are significantly less wide compared to front & back on the Denon. And that's how quite a few other pretty sharp nude ellipticals look, too - e.g. on the AT130E/132EP, AT150E, ADC XLM MkIII... Hence my guess that the AT7V isn't 0.2 mil...

I can't answer your question, hopefully someone else here has taken the plunge that owns a 440 or 150 and will attempt a review.
LP Gear has added info to their description and to the specifications for the AT7V, including the stylus tip. They have drawn a connection to the Signet series carts and even a link pointing back to this thread....

Yikes , was checking the price for my 155LC ! So it looks like I could go with one of the K or L group. I don't need one at the moment but might be an idea to get a spare of one of the newer cheaper stylus for a rainy day .Might even be an upgrade ? :scratch2:

Check Turntableneedles - they should also still have the ATN155LC, but considerably cheaper than Stereoneedles...

Between the two carts I have at this particular price point, the AT7V and the Denon DL110, I'd say the AT7V is a tiny bit warmer while the DL110 is a tiny bit more detailed. Both use a similar stylus tip, track great with low surface noise and both work well in medium mass arms. The AT7V will have the advantage in output, MM vs HOMC. Plus, you can change stylii on the AT.

I made this chart up a wee while ago. I'm currently using the now-discontinued AT450E cartridge
with a (quite superb sounding) AT440MLa stylus.

I had my cartriage picked out for my Rega 2 and it was the Ortofon 2m Blue. I have recently discovered the Audio Technica AT7V and am wondering which is a "better" performer? I had, years ago, a Signet tk7e and couldn't have been any happier with it...any comparo info much appreciated :scratch2: AT $119, Ortofon $169

, but I really like my AT7V on my Rega P2. I listen to a lot of hard rock and some heavy metal, and this cart sounds great! The mids and highs sounded a lot better to me then the MC that the table had on it. Now, it might be that my system wasn't really set up for MC and thats why this MM cart sounds better to me. I do plan on getting a phono pre that has MC capabiliies soon, so maybe then I can make a better comparison. But for now, I am happy with the sound!

I think Jim nailed it in post 38. I also have the AT7V and DL110 and I agree with his characterization. So far I can't pick a distinct favorite. I like them both enough that I haven't bothered w/ an A/B test.

All I can tell you is that the AT7V is preferable to the OM20 I had before (only MM cart I'd had in a while). Never heard a 2M series cart. The OM20 had what I'd call a "forward" midrange I didn't care for in my system. The AT7V has a sweet midrange that doesn't stick out, nice warm punchy bass and smooth extended highs without sibilance or surface noise.
