Hy everybody! Iread about my beloved dm5 .inverted rotate the x/o plate soubd much better .can anybody tell me how to do it . Ireally don't understand what to do it.thank very much.
I don't understand why rotating the crossover plate will change the sound. Maybe you mean changing the capacitors in the crossover as there are some that should be replaced after these many years. This thread seems to talk about that.
The typical tweeter on top has been superseded by tweeters below the woofer on some small speakers. My NHTs have the tweeter below the woofer and they are from this century. My Tome Windows from 1980 also have the tweeters below to woofer but they aren't small monitors.
So it might be an upgrade but if in fact the sound turns upside down with the tympani drums down low and the violins up high that might be a bit hard to get used to.
The position of the woofer and tweeter on the front baffle can be dictated by the crossover itself. Some crossovers tilt the sound up and some tilt it down. Positioning the tweeter below the woofer will also influence the phase relationship between the drivers.
