Cool band back around 1979-80?,wish I still had the album, back in the day I would bring albums I bought, Zebra included to a buddy who had a Nakamichi dragon and he would record the album on the old heavy metal framed cassette I think Maxwell? and I would have it recorded for car use. I'd " LOVE " to have a pair of 4300 series JBL orginals (or reproductions by Kenrick). Guess that's one thing in life that I'll never have and really do want (along with an orginal Picasso!). Just don't want to spend the $5000 plus on speakers. But...if I wasn't married!

They've been playing their songs since 78 (or at least thats the date the songs were copywritten) that are in that album but the it finally came out in 83. The long wait helped it become (at that time) the fasting selling debut album by any artist in Atlantic Record's history (even faster than Led Zeppelin!!!). I rem buying it and playing it on my grandma's all in one Emerson stereo. I'm surprised the record still sounds good and that her TT didn't distroy it! Even back then at 13 years of age I was careful with my records and made tape copies and never played them again unless the tape got ruined. got their 1st 3 on vinyl, then a whole bunch that never came out on vinyl (that i know of) on CD.
they still tour. When I lived in NY, I saw them all the time. And just earlier this year , in CA (where I live now), I the saw the lead singer/guitarist sing for "the Music of Led Zeppelin" with a 50 piece orchestra!!

Thanks for the information Peter Klim, I had no idea that album took off in sales or on the charts in such a way that it did. I am pretty sure Zeps " In threw the out door" had came out prior to the Zebra album, all I can say is at the time they had the Zeppellin sound like no other band and a great sound that by the record sales proved people were still hungry for, myself included. Good day.

I think the metal-framed tapes were TDK MA-R. Incredibly expensive.
I used to used TDK MAR to tape from my Oracle/Garrott Decca to my Sony Walkman Professional.Expensive but good. :yes:
