I'm sure the bank and the auctioneer know the values of the high-end pieces but perhaps there's a few goodies that are not on the radar of other buyers clamoring for the Mac equipment.

Maybe he's just saying that the ad is showing up as "flagged for removal" - not that he flagged it.

It isn't that difficult to just capture/post the info of the ad here.

It still would be fun to go to. I bet there are a few good buys to be had especially on the small stuff like cables etc.

Bid smart and I bet you can get deals. There's a lot of stuff there... I went to a large liquidation auction of Apple computers in around '95. I learned that the first few lots went the cheapest because the amateur bidders didn't know what they were doing and were waiting to see how things unfolded. Identical lots went for perhaps 75% more money later in the auction than at the beginning. I'd also think that with that much gear, there will be mostly resellers and not end users, so the bidding should stay at or below wholesale pricing for the most part.

This is just an old recycled concept. I bought some of my first stereo gear at 'Bank Seized' or 'Liquidation Sale' warehouse-type things they used to have every six months in the Denver metro area back in the 1970s. Usually at 'Big Mac', McNichols Auditorium. I got my turntable there back in the day. Good prices can be had, but they also sell a lot of junk mixed in with the good stuff. And yes, they know what it all goes for. Bargains yes, but not extreme bargains, usually.

I'd go if I was in the area, but it's not like this is a new thing. You guys just aren't old enough to remember the glorious good old days.

NOTE: Don't forget about the 10% buyer's premium....:sigh:

Agreed there probably won't be too many deals here. Pickers are everywhere nowadays.
