Any one have any advice? What is the difference between the BC169N Green dot??? Thanks for any help - I am WAY over my head with this stuff. Is a KCS1845 a good candidate?

Be aware according the schematic the very first transistor in the turntable input of your amp has a very low collector voltage on it.
There was some AK topic where it was stated the HFE graph of the KSC1845 is very poor at low voltage.
So this one would be not recommended for that position.

A substitute for the BC169 is BC549. (observe ebc pinout differs: read the datasheets).

I do not know about N suffix nor green dots but this MAY indicate a HFE range, so if you want to replace one you better measure HFE of old good ones first, and choose the A B or C subtypes of BC549.
