Beatles mono box - 2nd run

Just got my mono boxed set from Amazon

I'll be listening in a couple of hours.

It's a beautiful set, more than lives up to expectations.

Though I got in early enough for the first run, I'm glad they repressed it so that more people can enjoy the Beatles in mono. It's quite an experience.

I heard they just started getting the 2nd run out the door after original estimates were the beginning of October.

Amazon is now saying that my mono box ships on Monday, I hope that's true, can't wait.

you guys won't regret the purchase, it seems like alot of money but......just try and collect all of them on pristine vinyl.....now THATS expensive! It is a great set, its so good even if you arent sure you shouda bought it, those feeling will go away upon listening to it. I actually bought both the mono and stereo boxes.

I bought the stereo boxed set, and placed my order for the mono set immediately when they announced a second round would be released. Been waiting these several weeks for the phone to ring. I'm way up near the top of the list of ordered sets at HMV here (through which I placed my order), so I guess I won't have to wait much longer, before I'll be doing the banana dance! I may swing by the HMV store today, to see if they have updated news on what day I can expect my order to arrive. Last time, it took just a couple days after Amazon started delivery, before the store called.

I have several of the releases on original mono LPs, but not a complete set. As jdwk pointed out, that could get very expensive! I've just been lucky to run across a few in bulk buys here in Hong Kong, where not everyone is aware of their value. Besides, it will be interesting to hear what the remastering masters have done with their magic fairy dust treatments.?

Looking forward to hearing for myself what all the hoopla surrounding the mono set is all about.

:scratch2: Now the only decision is whether it is actually worth it (or not) to get the "Box of Vision", to house all these in...

I'm listening to them in whatever order strikes my fancy. I'm on Sgt. Pepper's right now, and all I can say is that this set is worth the money. Well, I'll say more. From the first vocals on the first track I knew this was something very special. The whole thing is very special.
