Beogram 1600 output cord

is it possible to change the original output cords on a Beogram 1600 to newer higher quality cables?

I was successful in replacing the original phono cables from my B&O TX2. I installed RCA jacks on the side of the unit and that allowed me to use external phone cables. Picked up the RCA jacks from PartsExpress. Had to drill the side of the turntable chassis to accommodate the jacks. I then cut the external phono wire back to the chassis, stripped it and soldered it to the phone jacks.
I can now use the phono cables of my choice which
are currently Blue Jeans LC1.
