I love The Who but I voted for The Wall because I listen to it way more than Tommy.

Who's Next would have won over any PF album.

Blood On The Tracks is a masterpiece.

The Who.

And as for Tommy: Done "live" and "right", there's nuthin' ponderous about it, long as they leave out the number "Sally Simpson". Cap it off w/ "My Generation" > "My Generation Jam" (ie, the seed that would grow into "Naked Eye"), and you're cookin'. Overall best studio LP by The Who: The Who Sell Out (1967).

The Wall: Whether it's performed "live" or I'm hearing the studio rendition, all I care to hear are the numbers (and not all those) featuring Gilmour's vocals and a (very) few of the other numbers. Then again, I feel the same way about DSoTM. Overall best LP by (The) Pink Floyd: The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967).

1967 was a very good year. Something else sort'a "important" was released that same year... now what was that thing called?

Besides the Buckingham's album/single, "Kind of a Drag," there was this groundbreaking psych gem that populates many a list of greatest albums of all time:

Some of their choicest cuts, in my opinion -

"You Stole My Money Honey"
"Dakota"
"I'm Alright" - This song just hurts.
"Maybe Tomorrow"
"Daisy Lane"
"It Means Nothing"

They CAN rock, but I find their slower stuff more suited to the singer, Kelly Jones.

Would be interested in hearing your opinion, and hope you find something you enjoy.

To OP, sorry for thread derail, I promise, I'll stop.

Yep, and I liked this one much more than the "Psych" LP dropped by that other British Invasion Four @ 1967.

That's a great Kinks album. My kids' 25-year-old gal cousin was cranking "Waterloo Sunset" recently and I found that pleasing.

As long as we're talking about albums, know that original UK Track LPs of Tommy sound heavenly, especially Pete's acoustic strumming which screams for analog. As for The Wall, original UK LP pressings have tremendous clarity and super-taut bass. Loads of fun when played a bit too loud 'cuz the sound effects are trippy.

Another '67 psych classic and ABKCO money grab from the Fab Five:

No harm, they were just keepin' up w/ the Jones's... while simultaneously trying to keep 'up' their own Jones, eh?
