Best Caps to Use for Infinity Qe?

Just an old fart trying to help.
Not sure about the Q series, after those (RS and Kappa for example) Infinity used poly caps in their EMIT circuits. I suspect the Qe's might have poly cap for EMIT as well.
Possibly poly or NPE's (most likely NPE but if I'm wrong someone will say so) for the woofer in the Qe's. I've used small value film caps (.01) as bypass caps with NPE's.
I've used Parts-express Dayton caps in a couple of my Infinity pairs.
Of course you can use higher grade caps as well, but you did ask about budget caps.

Dayton Audio capacitors are made in Taiwan by the same company that makes the Bennic caps sold by Madisound.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. They are still a good value.
I do like the Audyn Q4 series in an inexpensive cap. They tend to be physically smaller than the comparable Daytons/Bennics, which makes them easier to retrofit into older crossovers designs where space is tight, especially when using them to replace non-polarized electrolytics.
Next step up the price ladder, I like the ClarityCap PX series (if you have room for them). A step up from that, I like the SonicCap Gen 1s and the Mundorf EVO Oil.

From the Qe crossover schematic, the woofer is ran full range. So, nothing to change, for any improvements there. The Emit uses a 2nd order crossover, with a crossover point at 2500 Hz. As such, you could upgrade the 9.5uF capacitor. It looks like it's a Mylar. A switch to poly should help. I like MCM_Fan's suggestions for capacitor brands. Buy based on how much you want to spend? One capacitor for each speaker. All of these are good. Dayton 1% or 5%, Audyn Q4, or Jantzen CrossCaps can be found at Parts Express. Meniscus Audio, Sonic Craft, Parts Connexion, and Madisound offer very good caps too. Brands like ClarityCap, Mundorf, and SoniCap. Again, all very good. Personally, I like the Mundorf EVO Oils, mentioned above. Up to you?
Also, your 9.5uF cap might be hard to find in a single cap. You can wire 2 caps in parallel, to add up to the values you need. Or, you could use a single 10.0uF cap, without issue. Those are plentiful.

A 10uF EVO Oil is around $18 each. Silver Oils or Silver/Gold are over $200 each, which far exceeds the value of the speakers. You could do a Supreme EVO Oil (from Parts Connexion), at $72 each, but that's pretty high too. But, it's only money. Might as well enjoy it, if that's what you want?

I've used Mundorf EVO Oils, Supremes, and Silver Oils. But, the Supremes and Silver Oils were smaller values, used along with the EVO's, to get the cap sizes that I needed. I will say the Mundorfs were very balanced and transparent. Music was much more open and clear. Some people feel that Mundorf Caps are too accurate and bright, but to me they were just more resolving.

Have you checked the cap to see if it really needs replacing? There are many post in the Infinity Speaker section regarding Infinity re-caps and what to and not to replace. Most are of the opinion that the yellow caps rarely go bad and are part of the “Infinity sound”. I have a pair of 3000s from the same era as the Qe’s and I was going to recap them until I decided to check them first. Glad I did as they were spot on. I did replace the NPE for the mid but even that was not too far off spec.

seifreit great info, something I would have not done. I thought I read about changing the sound, but I will def have them checked 1st. What Value/tolerance would I look for as a range measure?
Such great info from all that posted. anything else I might need to know please jump in. I'm running the Qe's off my Old Kenwood right 45 wpc just to get a feel for them, but planning to move them to the bedroom off of either a HK receiver at 60wpc or a new Sansui G-5500. I was told the G-5500 may not like the 4ohm but.... Ill see how it goes. I was trying to freshen up the Qe's. I'm really likening them a lot. I play mostly Smooth Jazz and they sound really great to me.
