How to clean Emit Tweeters on Infinity Qe ?

I don't know if a chemical product will work, you might Google that.
DO NOT JUST RUB THE CHROME WITH STEEL WOOL UNLESS THE FACEPLATE IS REMOVED FROM THE BODY OF THE EMIT.
Little pieces of steel wool will be attracted to the strong magnet used and could damage or ruin the diaphragms.

Excellent advice from @goodolpg. The chrome plate is the front plate of the EMIT, and should not be disassembled without the use of a jig to keep the front and rear plates from shifting and damaging the very thin diaphragm, as described in the thread linked above. The Qe's are mighty fine small speakers, and the EMITs are some of the best tweeters ever made (IMHO), so it's definitely in your best interest to take your time and do it right.

FWIW (I know this is late; just catching up on my posts), but I have EMITs from both the Qa/Qb and the Qe, and the latter don't appear to have the same chrome plating as the former, just seems more like bare metal (it's possible that there were different versions made in different years, so don't consider this response conclusive). At any rate, unless you have access to extra EMITs in case you make a mistake, I'd just leave them as-is. The rust won't affect the sound and there's serious risk of destroying them.

I would just leave them as they are. Those tweeters are very easy to damage and if you actually try to rub the rust off it could get sucked down into the diaphragm by the magnets and ruin your speaker.

Pictures on Klaus's site show the Qe's having the black round faceplate under the shiny metal EMIT.

Are yours the same? A rather quick Google image search shows only the Qe's having that type of faceplate?

Yes, mine look like that; the black piece is removable, and the holes are drilled in a different place than those EMITs used in the Qa/Qb/Qjr. If you look closer, you'll see that the metal in that pic is more brushed than shiny. But at least one pic of the Qa on that site shows a similar tweeter. Does anyone here have a Q/Quantum-series speaker where the tweeter is brushed metal instead of chrome?

I just had a look at the EMITs on my Quantum 5s and they are plain steel. The steel can be re-polished. I pulled the face plate off one and with a little effort was able to remove the light surface rust and buff them out a little. When I have more time I’ll take them with me to the shop and have my som give them a better polish and give them a coat of ceramic clear to help prevent further rusting.
As others have cautioned, do not take them apart unless you have a jig or some means of keeping everything lined up while the face plate is off. And definitely do not attempt to polish them assembled.
