The two acoustic guitars (well yes its not solo) on Sleep Dirt is so damn good. Always makes me sad when it ends, it's just 3 minutes and 20 seconds :tears:
 
Ritchie Blackmore on the song "Catch the Rainbow" from the Rainbow live album On Stage. I'm not a musician but this song makes me wish that I were.

How about a number "Hey Baby" from First New Rays of Rising Sun.All Hendrix blows me away but this song has got to be one of his best.

Defined the term guitar solo....Period. But Joe walsh with the Eagles in hotel california is in the top ten fo shore

And I forget the name of the band, nor do I know the guitar player, but the solo at the end of 'Rid Captain, Ride (Upon Your Mystery Ship)'!!!

Denny Dias solo in "My Old School'-Steely Dan

Joe Perry's solo in the middle of 'Train kept A Rollin'-Aerosmith

Yes, I use to have two of their albums, the first was self-titled, the second (I had, not necesssarily release order) was Ride Captain Ride, and I think there was a third and I am not sure if there were more. Ride Captain Ride was the only hit that I know of that they had,

NO F'N WAY!:nono: those guys were heavy-duty! listen to: blues image 'open'. it's the one with 'ride capt ride'. the rest of the album is killer! mean guitar, b3 and mexicali percussion. this is one of my top favorites:music: there is a 9 minute blues jam that is some of the best playing of that period IMHO:banana:

Wow!! I have Iron Butterfly and Ramatam records, (though I haven't played either in many years) and I'm familiar with Pinera, and his guitar work. But I never knew Pinera was the guitar player in Blues Image! You learn something new, everyday around here! That's why I love this place!

I see a couple of mentions of CCR in this thread. But two of John Fogerty's absolute best workouts are. 'Fortunate Son' and 'Ramble Tamble'. His guitar work in 'Ramble Tamble' can best be described as Scotty Moore on LSD! It's an amazing hybrid of rockabilly and pyschedelia.
