Best Vintage solid state Integrated Amplifier

I'm going to go with my Luxman L10. I know it is kind of lame to just pick what you own but It's hard for me to pick anything else. I haven't heard that many but I know the ones I have heard have a hard time going up against the L10, the L10 always comes out on top. I have a L-110 that is getting worked on right now. It didn't power up when I got it so I haven't heard it yet, but who knows, maybe it beats the L10.

I’ve had a couple of Kenwood integrated amps so I can only speak to them, a KA60 that I used as a kid, and still have, and a KA1100SD that I got on Craigslist in near mint shape for $50. It’s 150wpc and it sounds amazing really. Not sure how it stacks up but it sounds really good and solid, it’s a keeper.

I'd be looking for Mcintosh first starting with the MA 6200 as being the oldest and then work forward. They built hybrids, also, in fact they still do. Some have tube outputs others have SS outputs with tube front ends. Next on the list would be some of the ccuphase Class A models if I had very efficent speakers over 100 db and the second choice over 96 db.

I had some kenwood gear that was really good and my sleeper was the Dynaco SCA-35! Amazing sound with the right speakers.
Now I have new Yamaha gear

Accuphase, P300, about three different models, also P-600, they will outlast you.

Accuphase also has the motto, if it needs repair, "Send It To Accuphase" and bend over. And also only in the country from which it was bought new. Major caveats. And they won't provide spare parts or service literature to independent service technicians. I do like how well made they are, and they've made some nice gear.

I'm extremely happy and totally satisified with my 1987 Sansui AU-X901. Sounds wonderful.

' Best ' amp I ever had. Hope it lasts forever

I have 3 integrated amps I feel sound better then average.
Pioneer SA-9500 II
Marantz 1180 DC
Sansui AU-517

Sansui AU-919.

Depends on what you like. No such thing as best when personal opinions are involved.

I wouldn't expect a pissing contest except maybe from posters who didn't read the first post of the thread. Since the thread starter specified the best vintage solid state integrated amplifier each responder has owned, he appears to be openly soliciting personal opinions.

Disagreeing with someone's assertion of the best he's owned without having heard all he's owned or even really knowing what all he's owned is just pissing into the wind.

Even though it isn't skunk water, it won't smell good unless you had asparagus for dinner. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Accuphase, P300, about three different models, also P-600, they will outlast you.

Accuphase has one big issue, their Accu-Attitude about parts/service supply anywhere but their people in the country you bought it from. And a power amplifier, not an integrated amplifier.

I have fond memories of...

Would love to get another one refurbished... Not sure it was the 'best' but could have been at the time

I haven't had much experience with integrated amps, I lucked into separates almost from the start. I had a Luxman tube integrated, but the question is only about solid state, so I won't even mention it. A friend had an old Sugden A-21. Class A. 20 watts of musical magic. I kept offering to buy it and he kept refusing to sell, it became a running gag between us.

Owned a bunch of em but I'd only buy this one again ..

Luxman LV105 hybrid MOSFET ...

Excellent phono stage and sweet detailed sonics ..

SANSUI AU-X911DG.
Best of the best.
While i had some others in rotation , like even, Accuphase , Sony , Tandberg , Pioneer , Marantz, Sansui stayed in the rack all those years proudly .
When i try to investigate why some electronics go such a way , to produce some certain feelings , cause of their appearance or sound or whatever it is making them so nice , i always come to the same conclusion, SANSUI is the way to go. Nothing else.
