Best vintage style floor speakers $150-300

I've seen ADS floor standers sell for less than $300.

Watch for L1290s or L1090s.

Well, if you go to a thread where people list all sort of amazing finds for under $100 you can see that some scored all sorts of rare and expensive deals cheap. But that takes luck and lots of patience. Location also make a difference. But I think what most of us try to list are the deals that can actually be found in most places across the country on more or less bases.
Where I live I dont see many ADS listed period. Much less floor standers and never for under $300. It took me a while to find a pair 1290s and still at a much higher price, so I didnt get them. At $300 I'd be taking them home. So, YMMV.

I paid $800 for a pair of L1290s (Walnut) delivered from Ebay. I had been looking for about a year.

Within a month, I saw two pair of black ones for under $300.

Oh well. I love the L1290s. They sold for $1300 when new, adjusted for inflation, that means...maybe I got hosed.

Then again...they don't make them like that anymore.

I just got a set of Nova 7s (the earlier Radio Shack branded ones not Realistic) and was not expecting much but holy CRAP they are amazing! They are built like tanks and sound great. I was thinking 45 year old speakers would be dried out junk bit I hooked them up to my new Sansui 881 and they blew my hair back.
