Bozak B305

Hi everyone,
I am in the middle of taking my Bozak B305 speaker apart and am wondering what is that insulation material? How safe is that to work with?
Does anyone have any idea what is that insulation made of?

i think its a material once known as rockwool

Somewhere I've seen a description of the exact composition, but I think it's some sort of cellulose-based material.

Yeah, everything I've read states that it is generally safe to handle. It is in there to reduce standing waves.

I recently got some 305's myself. Whatcha doing to yours? I haven't looked at how the cabs come apart yet. Mine don't seem to need any internal work, though I'm sure a re-cap would help. I'll be refinishing the cabinets. Looking for one Bozak badge & some legs too if anyone has any!

That material is called Kimsul. It was used as home insulation in the early part of the 20th century. It is paper, basically, made by Kimberly-Clark. Here is an interesting read:
