Brent Jessee of Audiotubes.com retired, Audiotubes to reopen soon under new ownership

Audiotubes.com run by Brent Jessee is retiring and is shutting his doors as of March 5, 2026. I think it is the longest running tube store online along with Watford Valves in Great Britain. He has been in business for 30 years and has been specializing in vintage hard-to-find tubes. His website is a bit busy but chock full of valuable information. He always answered my questions and really knows his stuff. Sorry to see him go.

Moderator note;

The thread title has been edited to reflect the fact that Audiotubes.com will be up and running under new ownership soon. Here's to wishing Brent a great retirement!

Sorry, we will miss his knowledge that he generously shared, but his retirement is well deserved. Any word on where the inventory/business is going will be posted on the website.

Really going to miss him, can't stress how valuable he was, Brent set the benchmark for tube selling NOS tubes in NA. Among all the people out there trying to sell you NOS tubes, who was the one person you would think of first, if you needed the most trusted seller, and be provided the best matching NOS tubes? Answer: Bent Jessee

There's others out there, who are also reputable and knowledgeable, but Brent had the right combination, of providing good public info, serious inventory, quality control and customer service. I wish we had more like him and his wife.

I hope they'll be sitting on a beach, enjoying a sunset cocktail; They've earned it

He is a real treasure to the audio community. I wonder how much work it was to find tube stock around the world. I wonder how much he had to travel. How all of that worked. I wonder if this is an indicator that NOS tubes are becoming too rare to support a successful business like his. I wonder if someone bought his business....

Lot's to wonder.

I wish him a very happy retirement.

I forget who said it (tube gear manufacture) "the writing is on the wall" for the end of tube gear.

damn

"NOTE CLOSING: This year is our 30th anniversary. We have had a good run. After much careful consideration, I have decided to retire and close the business while I am still at the top of my game. Therefore, we will close on March 5th, 2026. All orders and returns must be in to us by March 2nd. No business of any kind will be transacted after March 5. We are negotiating the sale of audiotubes.com Please watch this page as any new owner or reopening info will be posted here. Thanks to our loyal customers for 30 great years!"

that claim makes the rounds every once in a while tube gear continues to become more and more popular. both brents sales are way up this past year and hes inventory has rapidly depleted. this goes for many tube sellers.

Hi all,

I just wanted to clarify since I’ve seen a few questions come up—Brent has officially retired, but Audiotubes.com has not disappeared. I’ve acquired the business and am currently in the process of transitioning everything over.

I’ve been in the tube business for over 25 years and have known Brent for just as long, so my goal is to continue what he built while getting things back up and running as smoothly as possible.

I’m still in the middle of moving inventory and setting things up, so orders aren’t quite open yet—but they will be soon.

Appreciate everyone’s patience during the transition.

Thanks,

Jon Oas

We wish you nothing but the best of luck!

Wishing you the best Jon on the new business. I have never dealt with Brent J., but I read nothing but the best of him and his business.
