Just as I was pulling out of the driveway today, the mail came. In it, i got this Scott Walker collection: Boy Child- The Best of Scott Walker 1967 to 1970 (cd). I listened to it in the car. I bought it becasue it has a few songs that are on the insanely rare and expensive "Til the Band Comes In".

Oh, what the hell. To tell you the truth, this is mostly what the last four days has looked like: (ad infinitum)

...and I'm starting to get a little queezy.

I was away up in Maine with the little missus for the past 4 days and only listened to one CD in the car the whole time. it was Third World - You've got the Power. We listened to it as we drove from Bath through Portland and onto I-95

When I got home, I had this CD waiting for me. I listened to it once last night then again this morning on the commute:

Don Walser - Rolling Stone from Texas (cd)

Good stuff.

But before my commute, it was the first few tracks off of The Clash - London Calling (cd)

Brett a · Sep 3, 2012

The Seldom Scene - ...at the scene... (lp)

This morning with coffee (and wikid loud)
CSN and sometimes Y - Deja Vu (lp)

I took this picture with an old-timey camera app on my Droid. I figger'd I'd place the LP with my old-timey lamp and old-timey electric fan down behind my right speaker with the old-timey 78 record albums.

Brett a · Sep 4, 2012

This morning, it was Bonnie Prince Billy and the Cairo Gang - Wonder Show of the World. (lp) Which I think is not a very good album. Pleasant enough to listen to, but lyrically weak. A relative dud in his discography.

Another run through Amy Winehouse - Back to Black US release this time.

Tonight (Wed.) I finally cracked the seal on the vinyl copy of Scott Walker - Tilt. Sounds real clean and quiet. Nice pressing.

Brett a · Sep 6, 2012

So far today: CSN and sometimes Y's first album (lp).

I took this pic of the back of the LP. I've always assumed that's Neil looking out the window.

It's actually a picture of Dallas Taylor, the drummer on this album.

The Meditations (cd) More people should know about this unique and soulful reggae band.

Dwight Yoakam - This Time (cd) I just love this guy.

This is a 3 CD set of rather B-list Hits From The 70's. A lot of great stuff. I bought it becasue it has the track "Back When My Hair Was Short" on it. I used to have that 45 when I was a kid.

Thanks for clarifying. Come to think of it, Neil isn't on this album, is he?

Nope. Still a stone-cold classic though, IMHO. Some of the best harmonies ever.

Aerosmith - Greatest Hits (does anyone really need any more Aerosmith than this?)

His Bobness - Time Out of Mind (cd)

A terrific Doo Wop set I just received in the mail yesterday.

Hauschka - Room to Expand (cd) This is wonderful and easy on the ears prepared piano music.

Hauschka is Volker Bertelmann

Brett a · Sep 10, 2012

While getting ready for work this morning, disc 3 of The Absolutely Essential Doo Wop Collection

Then on the drive to work, I was rocking the Burt Bacharach.
