Long John Baldry was a major influence to British enjoying the blues. Heck he even got arrested defending the blues.

Those are all rock bands not Blues bands, Rolling around like Animals, Creaming on their Yardbirds, throwing Stones at Led Balloons, laughing at Spencer Davis till Blind Faith came along and the Blues Breakers where born....

But looking at Them

And wanted to think of pure blues I might have to pick, for a band born on covers

And ushered in these great contributors to the world.
