Brrr, Winter New England AK FrankenFest get together - SATURDAY FEBRUARY 28TH

I might be bringing my M&K sub.

I was planning on making the trip again, but work will be dragging me to London Mar3 to Mar 9, and I need to help my buddy in Florida Feb 25 to March 1st, before he travels back to Taiwan.

Too bad, as I was looking to bring my restored Thorens 125 TD MarkII, with a fully restored Rabco SL-8 Tone Arm, along with maybe a fully restored Pioneer SX-980, 1050, and 1250 .
Maybe next time

Not sure if I'll be able to make it, but I'll definitely try. Might bring along some goodies to sell, and maybe something to listen to. Nice to see Markus show up in this thread.

This snow is killing me! Dang....I can't wait to hang with the grooviest AK crowd there ever could be. Can't wait to waste money on dead media (minidiscs, anyone?). Can't wait for a few cold beers without fear of hearing my wife's new chore for me. Can't wait to see and hear some cool equipment...and say those awful words "I gotta get one of those things!" Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I will be coming late.
Since I may not get there until mid-afternoon, I won't be bringing the usual cheese tray.
Additionally, I will have to postpone my workshop on system synergy until a future Frankenfest.

One of my kids has a National History Day competition and my wife is travelling so I must take her, attend, and bring her home.

I was kind of wondering about this as well. Clinton relatively close to Worcester who has gotten over 90" of snow! :dammit:

Be flexible - we'll figure it out.
I'm on the other side of the Atlantic - what snow?

Also, keep an eye on this thread in the 1% chance we may need to reschedule.

Oh boy, these things have a way of sneaking up on me. I'll have to pile Tony into my Miata that's still wearing summer tires and make the most exciting AK Fest trip ever. At least I'll be able to park it inside in the building.

I'm game to go, provisionally. Had to postpone a Valentine's vacation to see a girl of the female persuasion in Maine, so I'm hoping we don't reschedule for the weekend of the 28th. 'Cause as much fun as I have with my AK buddies, none of you looks very good in a dress.

Anyone curious in hearing a late 80s Kyocera setup? I have the R-861 receiver, DA-710cx cd player, and D-811 tape deck. Not sure what speakers I would bring to work with it, but I'm sure if nothing else, I could borrow a pair for those interested in hearing it.

Im sure ill have something although the plan is to travel light, as always. Ill figure out what "listening" system im bringing along from my Gear you rarely see in the wild collection.

Is there still room available in one of the listening spaces for me?

Hey,

If there's room, why not! I'd love to hear that system!

Glenn

Hi Glenn -

I am still planning to come up (snow permitting - ) I can bring a cheap Dual TT with a standalone Booze-Hound lab phono pre (Soiled State) and a single play CDP, but if you are planning on any of that we could coordinate & leave more room ?

Just a thought.

No Sansui quad this time...

Earlier in this thread, I had mentioned that I might bring a mid-70s Sansui QRX-8001-based system and let people hear what true quad and QS Synthesizer quad sounds like. (Hint - I like it. It's now my main rig).

Given recent weather and piles of snow everywhere, the fact that I'd have to drag in a lot of heavy stuff, and the fact that the listening areas seem to be already booked, I'm going to postpone this til a later Fest. Thanks for understanding... --Dan

It looks like no mor significant snow next week (fingers crossed).
So once again: what will be parking and loading/unloading arrangements?
