Funny, was just chatting with Crutchfield about their return policy for comparisons. Ten bucks extra. Thinking of ordering the S20 just because I've been curious about them since I noticed them a few days ago.

This will be the best placement and best system in which I have tried the B6, and I thought they sounded pretty good.

If you do add the Polk S20s to the BBB I will put my money on those over all others, including the ELACs.
 
Come to think of it, Polk should just send me a pair for review. It wouldn't be scientific (no pesky lab measurements), it would be entirely subjective, but highly entertaining. I promise.

S20 in walnut, please.

Well, soon. The Polks aren't here yet, and I must assemble the cabs for the Fostex, but have enough in line to make a start, possibly beginning tomorrow.
 
Not that you have a ton of money to throw around in buying speakers, but....I vote for a pair of Polk Tsi100's. They're really nice sounding for music. Much better than the Rti series. A beautiful cherry pair are about $130.00 new.

what music?

wouldn't make sense for death-metal/"nine-inch-nails" on bookshelves - no bass (think CV D9s or JBL L100s)

I would be interested in soundstage (width, depth, dynamics) on symphonic works.

good luck - you are probably one of the few I would trust for an honest assessment.
 
I can remember installing Mcintosh Ml-1's and AR 3a's on shelves and believe me they were challenging! Most folks shelves couldn't handle the weight. Particle board book shelves didn't have a chance. Unless supported every 16 inches.. I preferred Herseys B313's and JBL 100's. More dynamic range and they didn't weigh near as much. Of the one mentioned above I would go with the colored ADS. Colored can be a good thing, if done right.
