buttons on a 2275...?

The FM switch (farthest left) changes the sensitivity of the FM tuner. I think Europe uses something different in the broadcast. Set it where you like it best. I tend to leave it off (out). The Multipath is for checking the tuning. Where you get signal reflection (buildings, trees, etc..) the signal gets reflected and you get "multiple" paths of the signal. Push it in while you tune the unit and watch the tuning meter. The high blend is to take out the high pitch you get sometimes from radio broadcasts and can be used for hiss from tape or even phono.
Mostly, I ignore them.
IF FM seems crappy (atmospheric disturbances) I might try the left most switch. and IF the FM signal seems hissy, I might try the high blend but I figure its smearing the sound and I don't really want that...
OK, that's my crude explaination. I'm sure others can correct me and fill in the details.

Dolby FM - Changes FM de-emphasis to 25 uS for Dolby FM broadcasts that never materialized.
Multipath - Changes the FM tuning meter to a multipath meter- useful for positioning an FM antenna for best reception.
Hi Blend - Blends the upper frequencies of the left and right channels to reduce noise on weaker FM stations.

Thanks... my mind was somewhere along those lines. I never paid much attention to those buttons before and I was just wondering. Those particular buttons didn't do much the other night.
I had a great late night with my beautiful, wooded 2275. It's over at my girlfriend's place and she crashed about 3 A.M. but I was just getting going. The girlfriend is a beauty too but... anyway, I live in a condo and I have to be considerate of my fine neighbors. I knew I was free to crank that Marantz for all she was worth. It was wine, a candle and the blue light with an excellent FM concert and great reception in a nice cozy room.
I also set the girlfriend up with some Herseys and Monitor Audio speakers. The Herseys wouldn't stay on those "risers". (they're not screwed in). No distortion, really good variety of music... the Marantz is on an antique dresser with a pair of Monitor Audios beside it and you can stand in front of the '75 and play it like a pinball machine. The Herseys are placed on each side of the dresser, spread out a bit. A very cool room. It was a lot of fun to really go at it without any interruptions and what a fine sound! It was real fun to play with all the buttons and tune each piece of music. It was soooo good! The volume was wayyyyyyyy up and the sound was so clear and enjoyable. I think the 2275 and the speakers liked the workout, too.
I was never very "up" with the Herseys but that night they were "up" for the party and they were good. I've never heard them that loud before. Well, they'll live for a little while longer... nothing broke.

Not really a filter, but it does get rid of some FM stereo noise like a high filter would.
