Calling All Yamahas. Time to Post Your Pics

Not much yamaha, and its not mine (my fathers)

but he has a Yamaha Ca-1010 power amp and Matching Tuner

thats it :D

I have a CR-640 which I think I fried, trying to replace meter lamps. I'm curious, with the CR's do the 40 series all have similar tuner screens? What I mean is, with receivers such as the CR-440, 640, 840 1040, and 2040, is the tuner the open faced style with the green lights from above? I really love that look. Now I'm trying to buy another one, or maybe fix the one I have. Not sure yet. Bonky, I love that 2040, it's a beautiful beast. That would be my dream machine, but they go for a first born on Ebay.

There is so much Yamaha gear going through here that things change quite often. The main system is a CR-2020 whose case I veneered in Cherry and I just could not part with it, so now it drives the Polk Monitor 7Bs. The CR-2020 it replaced is down in the shop driving stacked Advents. The CR-840 that I veneered in Black Walnut gave way to a Fisher 500C in the bedroom. There is a spare CR-620 in the shop, another CR-820 whose case is in process of getting a nice Cherry veneer. A customers CR-2020 whose case is being cleaned and another customers CR-1020 whos case is in process of getting Mahogany veneer - what can I say, this is Yamaha City.

My newest addition is a Yamaha R-1000 which I dearly love. I was looking for something with a real good phono section - it has it. I wanted a digital tuner - it has it. I wanted real deep & warm bass - it has it. Plus, I needed something that would drive the HPM-900s - it does. I really like this receiver. In fact, I like it so much that now I'm looking for a CA-2010 (my wife is going to kill me).

Thanx for the welcome OvenMaster.I'm new to this forum, but it looks as if there is a wealth of information here. Also helpful and knowledgable people.
And speaking of yammies, as you can see in my photos above, my 2040 has a few bulbs out. 2 hard wired(meters) and 2 of the screw out type(tuning bar).Where can one find replacements at a reasonable cost?Probably could have googled it, but thought one of you might have the skinny on a safe and reliable source.Cheers....

CA-1010,
A-960,
tweaked NS-10M,
CD-1,
plus a few pro/studio units.

I wish I'd need a receiver! That way I'd be forced to get a CR-1000! Or a CR-1020. Or a 3020.

Axel - You do need a receiver. Just like I need the CA-2010 I recently bought and am recapping. If you didn't, you would not mention.

I bought 100 lamps for the CR-nn20 series, for the CR-nn40 series you need 14V 80ma lamps. These I buy 10 at a time from ACK Supply (www.acksupply.com) lamp number 8640. They only have short bare leads so pick up a length of 1/16" heat shrink tubing while you are there (and tell them I sent you, maybe I'll get a break on my next order).

Just received a CR-840 today, cleaned it up, did all the adjustments, so now it is the shop receiver, freeing up a really nice CR-2020.

I too like Yamaha gear!
R-V901 in Living room for TV sound.

For my Music room!
MX 1000 AMP
MX 800 AMP
CX 1000 Pre AMP
TX 950 Tuner
4 NS 1000M Speakers

Just wish I could find the lamps for the display on the MX 1000 Amp.

I have only one piece of Yamaha gear. A CR-840 receiver, and I use every day. I like that you can add a DbX unit, or an Eq. that doesn't have to be in line with the tape recorder. Great piece. :thmbsp:
