Can't post, Can't Edit, Permissions, etc... Please use this thread

With trial-and-error I identified the problem: my attempted post included reference to a Linux directory path, but the forward-slashes in this path caused the forum software to disallow my post. There is some bug that disallows forward-slashes.
Please pass this information on to the hosting site's technical staff.

Two forward slashes makes it look like an embedded link. I'm guessing that there is (by design) something in place that doesn't allow embedded links.

It sounds like the issue was with just that attempted post with forward slashes into that thread. So, you should have been able to post content without forward slashes elsewhere on AK, (e g. to post about the issue in this thread) or are you saying that you were unable to post anything, anywhere on AK, forward slashes or not?

One of our esteemed members 'oldgringo' has been locked out - he suspects his Mac has had its IP blocked by Cloudflare.

He has tried to contact admins, but has only guessed at who the right contact may be - so far his requests have gone unanswered.

Please would someone contact him - he is able to send/and receive 'Direct messages' when using his phone - far from ideal.

I have more contact details for Dave,if needed just ask...

i am having problems again with slimjet browser . i get this error .
i cleared cookies and cache but still same . its a 403 error

FWIW, the only AK site issues I`m currently experiencing, are occasional sluggish responses to posting something a like, or trying to mark a thread subject as already watched.
What I find fairly annoying, is the recent (not too long after AK`s bot attack repair), is when I check my alert`s drop down list, and start at the bottom of the drop down`s oldest alerts, and is when I finish checking it out and I return to check the next alert, the drop down alert list doesn`t remain waiting for me to continue to examine the next one, requiring me to to reengage the alert`s drop down list function each time when I return, unlike the original alert drop down list retention as I click on and check each one, unlike the nearly 10 yrs. of being a A/K member.

This current forum glitch is not too much of an annoyance unless there are a large amount of over night alerts, like say 10, or more, as sometimes occurs, when I check into A/K in the morning.

Interesting more recent A/K forum experience`s development !
 
Started last night - Forbidden, you don't have permission to access this resource. Using a 10-15 year old computer with Firefox. tried my new computer hooked up to my same isp, and this is working. I tried clearing the site cache as mentioned, but to no avail. Must be some tweaking of the site going on.

Noted, thanks. I have not received any message from him if he believes that he has sent me a DM. If it's a Cloudflare or related server level issue then admin @Advally should be involved for those settings... passing info along.

I am very happy to report that this issue has been recognised and dealt with. However the overall situation is ongoing, so there may be further issues.

Yeah, Terrence, I just returned after a 4 hr. vacation to see if the situation had been resolved after a complete unusable forum cluster-F earlier !
I gave up after trying what worked before (refreshing the page I was on, forward, backward, closing out the browser, and reattempting to access A/K)

Nope, A/K was unavailable, so I crawled into YT videos for 4 hrs. and just now successfully reattempted logging in to finish my earlier alerts, new posts, and so far A/K seems somewhat currently functional.
