Empire, although unsure exact model number. Should be on the top if you dismount it from the headshell.

Many consider the Empire a fine cart, provided........

If the stylus has "EMPIRE" molded into it, and it's a metallic gray or pewter or dark silver, it could be an S915E stylus, which would make the body something special indeed. The only way to tell at this point would be to get an ohmmeter reading from the left and right channels on the back of the cartridge.

Hi,

Multimeters, even the worst, nevermind DMMs, cannot burnout coils.
The front of the stylus guard should give a clue. If it doesn't its a generic
stylus and for a SP25 MkIV just fit at new AT95E cartridge, good match.

Digital, yes. They hit the coils with VERY little current.

The writing on Empires is typically on the bottom of the cartridge body but it wears off quite easily. As for the stylus, the genuine ones have "EMPIRE" embossed on them as well as a "|" as a center mark, sometimes picked out in a contrasting color.

Wualta is correct. If you have a genuine Empire cartridge in that color with, I believe, the embossed "EMPIRE" picked out in Gold, you have a real winner!

No such thing as a 2000D/III. Did you mean 2000E/III? That one was fairly popular. And that's the one Marc is pointing to. That's almost certainly an aftermarket stylus, then.

now who's eyes are getting bad............he did type 2000E/lll

Not on my screen, he didn't, although it shows up that way in your quote. I just got out of a big fat OS update, so my puta might be updating slowly. UPDATE! Ah yes, that's what it was. Well, now Pete is faced with the problem of finding, then getting, an S2000E/III stylus, or he could take what's behind Door Number Two!, sreten's AT95E suggestion, which is not a bad suggestion at all.
