Found this at a thrift store. Is this rare? Basically an adapter that allows you to play cassettes on 8 track player.

I never knew anyone who owned one of those, and I grew up during the 8-track and cassette era. That gadget may be rare, but so what?

So nothing ...lol I just had never heard of one or seen one but im a younger guy who is into vintage so im broadening my horizons

I've seen those on a couple of occasions during my thrift store / garage sale runs. I actually purchased one, to test with my 8 track player at home. Not impressed with the sound at all! Kind of a neat novelty though.

A buck 25 in original box ...figured i couldnt go wrong

Can't tell you how many 8-track players in cars I pulled out in the 80s with one of those sticking out of it ...

As a HS teenager driving my dad's car with 8-track deck.....I used one all the time to play my cassettes. Again as a teen I thought it sounded bad-a$$ in my dad's noisy car......LOL

See them all the time why way back when I even saw the reverse,8 Track to Cassette Adapter:)

I used to use those back in the '70s to play cassettes in my 8-track decks.
Not great quality but they did work until I changed out to a real cassette unit.
I found a couple of these recently and passed them on to my son.
He collects early Monte Carlos and a couple have 8-track decks.
I then also bought him a cassette to iPod adapter at a dollar store.
He can now play his iPod/iPhone in his old cars with no modifications.
Again, not the best sound but he does maintain his original radio for 'collector' car insurance status.

I think those adaptors are the best way to get Annie Lenox to sound like Barry White......
