cassette belt

I recently repaired a Tascam, it has a very rare capstan belt, got it on Ebay for pennies! Installed the belt, cleaned the heads, and lubed the gearing. She now works as yester-year

Thank You, but the belt size is still needed. And one more thing - I can't remove the cassette holder cover. Any trick needed?

V-3000 ir single capstan deck, nothing special, it is not V-7000. I doubt someone measured belt dimensions, except belt sellers.

Sellers of belts, for obvious reasons, rarely give their sizes. The tape recorder may not be "special", but the belt has a certain size...

Generally, pulling up and tilting outward will remove it.

Is the original belt still there and not turned to goo? In this case, remove it and measure it. Then subtract 10-15%, and find the closest one from kpcomponents (no affiliation) A digital caliper will be necessary to measure the thickness, and even width, at least for my old eyes.

I have sometimes been able to find a belt size by getting a SM, and searching for the Teac part number-worth a shot.
