Would a cd only player sound better than a blue-ray player ?
I have a sony blue ray player now but its kind of noisy.
Which other units should I keep an eye out for ? I would rather go used.

.. given DVDs can contain music material with varying capacity. Most blue ray players I have used generally isolate their use to blue ray material.. which sounds great given the tracks have a wide dynamic range. As for a DVD player can play some CDs as well, giving the user great flexibility for both formats.
My 2.5 cents: Oppo 105 or Marrantz ND8006

Oh the trickery. I thought those links would be for those specific units, not a trap to go to one of your other posts

You can find excellent DVD players on EBAY or the like relatively inexpensive. But I am sure there may be blue ray players as well with that capability. Can't say I can name any![]()
If a manufacturer offered a machine that does everything that the Marantz ND8006 does (including functioning as a music streamer), and supports ALL disc formats (including formats relevant to classical music such as SACD, Blu-ray, DVD, and CD), that for me would be a very useful player.
