I need a few belts, one esp. for an Akai and a Nak cassette deck. Where is the cheapest place to buy from? At that auction site the belt kits for reels and cassettes run upwards of 20 bucks!!!

Buying belts from a company that does not rely on belt sales for all their income are best. Maybe one of the electronics supply houses, mcm or mouser might have them, but you would need to know the sizes. That is the convenience of the 'kit' sellers. The homework is done.

Using the cheapest source of belts is like using the cheapest brain surgeon.

You want to find the source for the best quality belts.

Mars on eBay sells good belts and tires. Russell industries has a wide selection of belts and tires. HB Electronics sells excellent belts. MCM has a good selection of belts and tires.

Many belt vendors sell belts that are too thick. Put bluntly, belts that are too thick don't work worth a damn.

I'm with Fred. Three times I tried to buy a cheap belt for my Dual, three times it was wrong: too thick, not wide enough, too short... next time I'm getting the exact one and I already know it will be worth the cost.

Hi: Where is the best place to buy original or at least good quality belts, I need two for my Nak-RX-202 cassette deck and an idler tire?! Thanks, Huck

Hi,

I would go for quality over price on a cassette deck belt. Most cassette decks are a Pain In Der Rear End to service. Do it once instead of thrice if ye can. Saves sanity that way and it performs as it should. Also, replace all belts when you have to replace one.

They never have in my experience.Tape decks, answering machines, TTs... they all usually just list a part number. :(
