Chrysler speakers

CL specials, Japanese made, nice cabinets, heavy. They look to be nice 60's or 70's speakers. Anybody know anything about them?

If so, there is a pair for sale at the Salvation Army by my house, but they want crazy money for them. Like $130 for the pair. They look nice, but I have no idea what the drivers look like as the grill appears to be glued on.

Got a pair of empty Chrysler cabinets. Look to have been made by Coral.

Nice stuff... I'm planning to build a nice 15" 2-way system with a horn (like a baby version of the Seeburg project I did a while back) in them, whenever I get time... will have to make a new front baffle, but that should be reasonably simple (it unbolts from the inside)...

I bought them for $20. They are really nice sounding speakers, although they don't have much bass.
How many speakers do you see with real wood backs, metal reinforced corners, and the ID plate attached with little nails?
If you see Chrysler speakers and they are cheap (reasonable), grab them.

Coral woofer surrounds tend to stiffen up with age....with reduced bass response as a result.
