Classic High-End Gear

I included it in my signature due to irreparably cracking the body of my Soundsmith The Voice. If I am ever to listen to analogue again it will be via the Strain Gauge cartridge. That is the reason why it is in my signature. I have not however mounted it as of yet. I am a great procrastinator. I never do anything in a hurry and that is how I roll.
 
The Sansui qualifies as a separate, but the Nak as a receiver does not. Nice units though.

The high end store I frequented in my early twenties proudly displayed Proton gear alongside Bryston, Linn, and Naim. It held its own very well against the stiff competition.
 
For me its Pioneer elite. Maybe its not top of the top but sound wise and built wise im sure is. On board Nippon AVF for audio capacitors ( similar in quality to elna silmic), Ucon top quality capacitors and Nichicon Muse audio grade capacitors. Specs are one of the highest : s/n ratio 106.5 pre and 124.4 Power ( measured) . Even many more pricey gear doesnt have stats like this. MSRP 390 000 yenIMG_20200112_132350.jpg

I'm gonna agree with ya Watt. I'm bi-amping my Kappa 9's with 2 Clair Bros Phase Linear 700 Series II amps in vertical configuration... full WOPL upgrades done by the master.

There is nothing in those Spectra's that could be even slightly effective as a bass trap.
FWIW: I have a pair of Spectra 22's with the SPW-1.
 
Also forgot to add in earlier post Proton 440 tuner.
Hands down sounds much better then my recapped/aligned TU-717.
In fact-this is frankly one of the nicest-fullest sounding tuners I have heard ever.
Wide open sound, dynamic sound, and very quiet.
Selectivity is poor, but really isn't a problem in my location.
