Classic High-End Gear

The midbass is through the 4 emim's in the flat panels, Stereophile.com (google) did a detailed test / review
There's a lot of reading and set up with this system but I do say it holds its own against some expensive gear out there

I just want to mention that the IRS Beta's were $10K in 1988. That's a lot of money even today (almost $22K). They are one of my "Holy Grail" speakers along with Apogee Studio Grand's. I've heard both and it would be hard for me to choose one over the other.

Yes! Pair that with some Thrusters and a Lloyd's front end and you have "high end".

Not!
Hold up there....that little bomb blue music delivery device, a packed bowl of your finest ditch weed, and Rachel Hill got me through sophomore Algebra. Please refrain from besmirching the TNT relaxation gift from the gods

Even the finest weed can't make that "High End". No matter. Rachel Hill was probably the best part of that. Whatever worked for you is good.

Back in a day I lusted after the RS111B's used to sit in a second sound room (for the real stuff) and dreamed. Eventually there..I doubled, then the Kapa's, had to stop...well sort of. All dialed in Beta's even today are powerful, unique, and rewarding.

First nice stereo I ever heard is typical....best friends older brother...mid, late 80’s full silver HK system with Infinity RS IIIA’s ....

was in a trance starring at those infinity’s

bong hits might have played a role....
