Yep, I agree, and have that BR one as well for probably over 15 yrs.The 1994 Maverick movie with James Garner, Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster. and James Coburn was also very, very good. I don’t think a lot of people saw it, but it was excellent in my opinion.
This would be a great opportunity to go learn more about him!
Perhaps perceptions about being egocentric/egomaniac are at odds. Personally, I don't see it. I do see a great lyricist. Still is.Roger is one of the best lyricists of all time in my book. I've long held that belief. Nobody is better at saying so much, so well, in so few words.
That said, he also seems to an egomaniac of equally epic proportions.
It's difficult to for me resolve to resolve the two.
I'm currently watching The Rockford Files (all episodes available on Amazon Prime Video). It was one of my favorite shows back in the day. James Garner had an interesting life. He was a decorated Korean War veteran, race car driver, and dedicated husband. He married his wife two weeks after they met in the mid-50's and stayed married to her until his death. He did most (if not all) of his stunts on The Rockford Files and was injured often, which may have caused him to leave the show after six seasons. Definitely a classy guy.Jim Rockford (aka James Garner) -- Don't know too much about James, but always liked his character on Rockford Files

God help me, I do like Tom Selleck and his squeaky voice.

It's not that bad. When he was younger it was a bit higher pitched than it is today. But that happens to all of us as we age, our voice deepens. The German dubbing, however, gives him a very pleasant masculine voice.
I did not know that his actual voice sounds like the one of Duffy Duck.
