Cleaning NHT 1.3 Soft dome tweeters

I have a pair of NHT 1.3 with soft dome tweeters and the soft domes are filthy covered with dust. They play but lack output and I am wondering if this could be part of the issue.

Even if it doesn't improve , you'll know they're cleaner ..

Hi Jim,
Do these tweeters use ferrofluid? My KEF T33 tweeters were very sludgy around the voice coil and had low output until I cleaned them and put in fresh magnetic fluid.

They're old enough to where a recap might improve the treble response too.
