Teams get 3 reviews if they just get one of the two right. Weapon type of hand gestures is just part of sports. Who cares. Only babies cannot handle the mental side of the game. I miss old school rules, but do like the new helmet designs and safety equipment players are allowed to use.
 
Hawkeye fan here since birth lol , I think Iowa is being overlooked , thats typical, we have a tough 3 game run with Michigan , OSU , and Washington in a row but nobody else on our schedule looks overly tough.

Oregon and Indiana , our 2 conference losses last year, beat us by a combined 7 points , and we lost our QB in the Indiana game 5 point loss ,and Oregon won by 2 , then went on to beat Vanderbilt in a bowl game

I don't follow wrestling personally , my SIL is a huge fan, Dan Gable is a legend in the state.

We used to be number one for years , if I remember correctly we had a 10 year run as NCAA Champs ,I think we have dropped off since.
 
I hope the SEC decides to boot LSU out of the conference for recruiting former professional players for their football program. Lane Kiffin is a scumbag. The NCAA needs to send a message to these corrupt programs looking to skirt the rules and do anything possible to cheat the system. I guess we'll find out here pretty-soon what the decision is.

If they do allow LSU to continue, I hope other teams on their schedule refuse to play them and just cancel the games.

They would be just stupid to do that. They followed the rule in front of them. And the players never played or joined the team.
The NCAA and SEC overrides a federal judge?? I don't think they have that much pull. They sure didn't in the NIL rulling.
Now if the SEC and NCAA want to actually put rules in place and actually show some sort of leadership I am all for it.
They allowed 30 year old's in their 7th year of school play. Please....after 7 years we better be calling them Dr.
How about we go back to 4 years of eligibility ...no more. Tough sh$t if you didn't get to play em all, it is all you get.
How about if you transfer more than one time in your 4 years you are done.
How about putting a salary cap on how much NIL money they get paid??

The rest of the SEC see what is facing them. LSU is a strong team. And they don't like Kiffin. Tough sh$t...put your team on the field and beat them.

And to answer the unasked question, I just live in Louisiana. I am a Penn State fan.

I am a huge wrestling fan. I grew up in Pennsylvania......sports heroes in my district were wrestlers. I lived a few miles from Lehigh University.

LSU has always been shady to say the least and by signing Lane Kiffin they just hired the shadiest coach possible.

I say kick them out of the SEC before they totally-ruin college football. It's already bad enough now with the transfer portal, paying players, legal gambling. Add what LSU wants and it will be total garbage. No resemblence to a college sport. No more young student/atheletes, just older pros who didn't make it to the NFL.

Sort of like letting men play in the WNBA. If they allow that, all the competitive teams will be made up of men. No more women. Just men who didn't make it to the NBA.

The NCAA needs to step in and at the least suspend them for a year as punishment if they don't remove these players from their roster. Ban LSU from bowl games and threaten the "Death Penalty" if they continue. They can become the Saint's farm team then and play against other professional teams... and they won't be missed.

The court order is only one year and only applies to those who graduated HS in 2022. It gives them the fifth year of eligibility.

I am not agreeing with it, but some of you are acting like its a forever thing :rolleyes:
 
There an no student athletes anymore....at least not in football or basketball. That has been ruined for way more years than this one.
And again.....LSU played by the rules laid in front of them .... according to a federal judge. And yet, they did not put the players on the roster or were they part of the team. You do know there is more than these 2 players trying to get back into school... and other schools than LSU??? But we should hang them because they are the most visible?? Don't think that is how it works.

It looks like the SEC means business to me. I think everyone's about fed-up with LSU.

“Defendants have continued their public efforts to recruit professional athletes and eventually allow them to participate in official team activities in direct defiance of the Professionalism Rules,” the filing stated. “This conduct is detrimental to the Conference and contrary to its core purpose. Defendants’ conduct has already harmed the Conference and threatens to cause further substantial harm if not curbed.”

In a statement, the SEC added it is asking the court for a temporary restraining order that would allow the conference to enforce its own rules after the Louisiana court blocked it from enforcing the rule against former professional players being available to play.

“The SEC and its member universities have the right to establish, through agreed-upon governance procedures, the rules under which they voluntarily compete and to expect those rules to be followed. A commitment to those rules, and to the core principles of the Southeastern Conference, is an essential element of SEC membership,” the statement read.

“Today’s filing is necessary to defend that right and preserve the Conference’s ability to govern competition among its members.”

Included in Tuesday’s legal filing was a declaration from SEC commissioner Greg Sankey, who referenced a meeting that took place Friday with the 15 other SEC university presidents or chancellors without LSU present.

In the filing, Sankey said the “consensus” from that group “was and continues to be that LSU’s continued membership in the Conference would be inconsistent with the publicly stated values and principles of the Conference and its remaining member institutions” – even if LSU opts not to include those players the conference deems ineligible on the team’s football roster.

The SEC and the other 15 teams want LSU kicked out now even if they get rid of the pros!

As of the game this past weekend they were not on the football roster. The SEC is trying to flex its muscles....and to tell you the truth they have no grounds to stand on.
 
I commend the SEC for standing up to this BS.

LSU is bringing all of this on themself. They aren't content to play by the same rules as everyone else.

The most-corrupt program in college football.
