From the one I have,I can tell you Philips amps are very underappreciated.They are not that rare,and do turn up on eBay sites,in Germany,and Holland,which was how I got mine,in 2009.It was 30 Euro.

They sure are.And most of them,are things we can never dream of finding.I do wonder how people find some of this stuff.

Those Stromberg-Carlsons can cost as much or more than the best Marantz gear.
 
Datom "Chassis A" amp. Fed by x6 Amperex / Bugle Boy tubes with another x9 tubes in the tuner...which has a really cool leather circuit board. I found out this weekend that my tuner may have been the very first one (Serial # 01) out of the shop from this line!!

To date, I've only found one other amp like this from Datom and a somewhat similar tuner...see AK post from a few yrs ago. The tuner is listed as an Atkins Concert Hall if anybody out there can help with identifying more info on it.

I just picked this set up a few weeks ago and currently restoring with the unbelievable help & guidance of AK members. Once it cleaned up and restored, I'll post updated pics.

My oddball, a Bogen DS-225. Not mine, but looks just like it:

It has a funky power supply and cathode feedback windings on the output transformers. Its also just not a terribly common amp. Sounds pretty awesome though.
 
Long dead thread, but one that deserves to live. It would be great if some of the pictures that were lost to the photo bucket debacle could be replaced. Nudge, nudge to original posters, and of course new ones.
 
Still missing are the RCA SP-10 and SP-20. Best off the rack amps I have ever heard. In the running-but-rare, try the Fantasia Power amp, rigged with PP 845, and a pair of 866's.

I had a Horizon 10 and tuner. Sold the tuner and IIRC swapped the 10 for one of the 20s above.

Years back I had different sets of English output transformers from Savage. Both sets had the same profile end bells likes those. Curious if yours are marked?

The amp/pre set is fantastic too. Never seen those before.
 
Dunno how rare it is, but I've seen pictures of only a couple...one being mine, that I think floated between a couple AK members before finally settling in with me.

Victor Audiola MST-30. PP EL-84 and 12AT7s.

There is a cover/tube cage too, but I don't use it.

I can't see any markings for either of the transformers.The preamp uses 4 EF-86's. I saw a similar AEI (same amp, different company name) with transformers marked Haddon.
