Cover versions better that the originals?

Beatles: Twist & Shout
Grateful Dead: Morning Dew
Allman Bros: Franklin's Tower (more kick than the Dead)
Beach Boys: Sloop John B
Slickee Boys: Pictures of Matchstick Men (do yourselves a favor and seek this out as it blows Status Quo away).
George Harrison: If Not for You

And don't shoot me, but I like Manfred Mann's Blinded by the Light slighly more than Bruce's as it reminds me of good times.

No Quarter by Tool as compared to Led Zeppelin.

And this coming from someone who hates Tool and loves Led Zeppelin!!!

I see I;m not the only one with that recommedation.

It may just be because it's from my generation but I really like Van Halen's cover of "You Really Got Me" better than the original Kink's version.

The Mighty Quinn: Manfred Mann

Knockin on Heaven's Door: Guns and Roses

People Get Ready: Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart

Radar Love: White Lion

Marvin Gaye: Heard it Through the Grapevine

Anything by Wierd Al... "This songs just six words long" "I think I'm a clone now" the star wars version of American Pie.

Beatles: Twist & Shout

Big fan of high pants and keytars are we?

Of course :thmbsp:

Pseudo Echo are playing a concert close to me this week, and yet again I have to miss it. Breastfeeding newborn... cant find a wet nurse, and I will not ditch the wife :D

The first time I missed their concert, I ended up in hospital... close enough to hear the concert in the distance. In fact I have NEVER gone to a concert. Every time I have tried, I have ended up in hospital (and normally within earshot). This includes a time my GF got back stage passes to an AC/DC concert. Murphy (Murphy's Laws) has had it in for me listening to live music.

Know how you feel about not ditching the wife;

Missed Iggy Pop at the Falls, heavily pregnant with child one

Missed Bowie at Rod Laver, heavily pregnant with child 2

Missed Neil Young at Myer Music Bowl (see above)

Missed Stooges at Big Day Out, wife had gall bladder removed

Descendents version of the Beach Boys "Wendy"

I'll second the PE version of funky town.
The Butthole Surfers did a killer cover of Hurdy Gurdy Man..

Oh, I HAVE to find a copy of that Butthole Surfers track then. I like a bit of Butthole Surfers, but I had not heard they did Hurdy Gurdy Man.
