Creation of a music lounge

This is how every listening place should look, minimal and clean. You sir have a beautiful listening place. A lot of people can learn from this. It dosent take much to get rid of so much unecessary things and just have what you "need". Great job!

Hey thank you, it's appreciated.:thmbsp:

Beautiful!
That is one space age looking cdp!
Is the wood floor bamboo? I am also building and put bamboo on the floor which looks very similar.

No it is not, only a simple floating wood floors. I don't think it worth the extra buck since these new floors have high quality standard these day.

very impressive. What are your speakers (the mains on stands)? I was probably too distracted by the cool shots and skimmed right over the speaker brand/model.

Well I think it's time for an update. I did many change in my system those last weeks. Everything is in the signature but a picture speak for itself.

Great looking room. Bet it sounds better than it looks.

At this time it still hard to tell ya since those Wharfedale are brain new. They need at least 250hours and they will change dramatically. More to come for sure. Furthermore, the Schiit is also new so my entire system need hours and time to break in, but it already sound pretty good :)

Great space, really nice. How is the acoustics/overall sound, as it would appear to be a pretty live room, no? Any acoustic treatments needed?

Actually I really have to find the right spot to get the good bass respond. It is always to light until I find that spot. Mostly they need to be at 3feets from the front wall and 8feets apart. But once everything is in place, everything sound deep, wide and with a big soundstage. Actually I need to break in those warfedale so I can start to find the good location for those. Few hundreds hours to go :thmbsp:

Those Wharfedales are beautiful Phil. I am curious as to why such a dramatic change in your system. I thought you were pretty happy with the Grant Fidelity system. It seemed to be vey well thought out and certainly looked great as well. I hope your enjoying the new set up as much as the old one. :thmbsp:

I don't like it when folks copy pics and they continually repeat in threads but Damn! those are killer looking speakers. The best looking I've seen in a very long time.

I could spend then entire evening to tell you why i do not have my GF system anymore. I have some regrets but you know, i think we mostly have impultion in this hobby. Furthermore, i had some personal reason but it doesn't matter today. I will have to search and spend a lot to find back the quality i had with GF !

It would appear that you are back in the saddle again!:thmbsp:

Yeah, and so far those Wharfedale are simply beautiful and began to sound remarkably good. Still, they need around 500 hours to sound at their best, long way to go. The only disappointed point is the big tag Made in China. Nor that I care much but I really tough this Flagship speaker from Wharfedale were built in UK.

On the other hand, how good looking and feeling is the Schiit Bifrost. A very well engineering device for sure. It come with the USB and Uber upgrade part. More to come :)

As for the Cambridge, well the 840A represent a very good value on the used market. Plenty of power, LCD screen, good looking too. Maybe not the best musical/coherent amp out there but at this time I think it a good match with the Opus. But I have the feeling that will be the first to go out.

At last, I pick up a Morrow Audio MA3 interconnect. Very nice built quality, I will have to make some audio test against my Virtue Audio one.

Hi AK members. I haven’t posted for a while now so I wanted to give some update about my system. Every device has been replaced those last few months. First, the Cambridge has been replaced by a Unison Research Unico Secondo. I must say it’s a fantastic amplifier with lots of punch and grip.
Pair of Focal 807W is now one of my favorite speakers. I had owned a pair of 806V last year and I have to tell ya those are a big step up over the V line. And then, I have bought a Schiit Audio Bifrost (Uber and USB2) to replace the Grant Fidelity TubeDac-11. I think I have found a system that fit together, with a very nice synergy between them, so far I am very impressed and this setup will last for quite some time I am pretty sure.
I am still waiting for a cable order from Jason at Virtue Audio, 2 power cords and interconnect. I wanted to switch for Morrow Audio few weeks ago but those Virtue are some solid wires for the buck, furthermore those new PC are absolutely gorgeous to look at and hope they will sound great into my system. I‘ll post picture of those later, but for now, yeah I know the drill. Enjoy
