I went for a walk in a local park again early this morning with hopes of seeing the urban beavers again, and within 3 minutes the walk yielded images of wildlife, though not the beavers hoped for. However, the photog botched them completely. Before taking pics I always look at where things are set, and today was no different. But somehow my finger got over the auto-bracketing routine, and while I was distracted trying to figure out how to turn that off, I neglected to check the rest of the settings. So I ended up with images at least 5 stops under exposed. I'm happy I was able to recover this much data from them. These COULD have been great.

The neighbors dogs. Anytime I walk out my door they warn their people there is an intruder in the neighborhood. Fortunately we live far enough apart that it isn't really annoying. Maybe if I threw doggie treats over the fence they would be less vocal.

This innocent looking little fur pig managed to get to 2 turntable covers that I had just spent hours polishing so that he could scratch them up even worse than what they were. Mind boggling how cat claws can gouge them so deep, I assume when he jumping off.

Diet and Feeding

Eats mostly small mammals, especially pocket gophers, moles, rabbits, and mice, along with birds and their eggs and nestlings. Occasionally eats lizards and insects. A powerful constrictor; kills prey by suffocating them in body coils or by pressing the animal against the walls of their underground burrows.

Thought we'd lost our 3 pond frogs (predators?)
But I spotted this one pond side today, 90 degrees right now. Big ol' Leopard Frog!


So when I came in to post the pix, I spotted our cat Raffi, wisely chillin' indoors ...

I seem to see something new every time I go for a walk at this place. THIS time it was a turtle laying her eggs by the side of the path. Pretty sure this is a Snapping turtle.
