Does anyone have a current source to get a replacement or repair for the idler clutch assembly for the CT-F9191. I have 2 of them I'm trying to fix. Thanks!

The clutch surface can be re-surfaced. I have used a dental hook and what you need to do is to put scratches from the center to the outer rim of the grooved plastic wheel. The number of scratches is up to you but I would do 6 or so and try to make them somewhat deep. If you haven't taken them apart and you have the right type of tool you can just lift the spring loaded pad and get the tool in there. Taking them apart you run the danger of losing the spring or retaining clip (if it has one) and or cracking the center post due to age of the plastic. Obviously if you can get a stock part that would be the best option but re-surfacing will work....good luck

Thanks. It's actually the shafts I need to fix/replacement. Both are cracked. I haven't had any luck locating replacements

i had the same symptoms on a CT-F9191. i sent the clutch to markthefixer, her re-worked it and had it back to me in about a week. this was in April 2018, but i just got around to working on the tape deck recently. new belts, some cleaning, and the deck works perfectly.
