Delete your own post?

Is there any way to delete your own post? I've just put a reply in a thread, tried to edit it and accidentally posted a new reply.

Yes, I believe you can.

Open that duplicated post, select [Edit] and then you'll see the command buttons at the bottom of the edit window -- one of which is [Delete]. Try it.

I don't think you can anymore. They removed that capability some time ago. I think only mods and admins see the 'delete' button when editing.

Yes, that's correct, AFAIK. You can delete the content, or PM a mod to delete the post for you.

Yes, this facility was removed, and I believe the explanation from admins/most was that they did not want for example a disgruntled member, etc., to remove all his content. Seems like a wise move on behalf of AK.

If I accidentally were to submit a duplicate, I would just edit the text to say something like "Duplicate post - content removed by OP", or have mods delete it.
