Design Acoustics is notorious for some unconventional designs, and conjures up images of the dodecahedral D-12 -- which may be a bit frightening. Though some are quite enamored with 'em.
Earlier threads indicate the PS series were actually designed by Audio Technica, who owned the Design Acoustic brand at that time. More mainstream, compared to "true" DA stuff. And not without their fans.
I personally know very little about them, though recall seeing them back in the day. But AK has some Design Acoustic specialists, including former employees.
