Sadly, wrong on all counts Rob. We have repeatedly asked you, including on other strings, to study and learn, from studies/papers, AES, Medical etc, but you refuse to. And since you refuse to learn, you are only wasting everyone's time.

If I recall, you were quoting PhD's that you conferred with regarding your sister's hearing issues and stating that this "PhD information" gave you authority to speak on the subject of blind and ABX comparitive testing.
You never provided the data to back it up (and tried to throw the word "confounds" in there as much as possible to make it seem like you knew of which you spoke).

I provide data to back it up.

And etsat forgot a significant line of text from the paper "As a result, no significant difference was found between sounds with and without very high frequency components among the sound stimuli and the subjects."

It was only a small test of 36 subjects, but can you refute the text I have quoted that none heard a significant difference (NOT a preference, a DIFFERENCE)?

(No, I didn't hack their website to re-write the paper).

Still waiting for your chain of evidence supporting ultrasonic frequency from a performance reaching your eardrum in your home during playback...

And absolutely no one records at the crippled Redbook specification. The best ones use DXD.

The economics of distribution and sales is another story altogether.

Although almost no studio engineers are recording raw material 44.1 16-bit, many ARE still recording entire projects at 44.1 24-bit. 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 are ALL very common. I don't know anyone outside the classical world, or sound-designers, or a few others (Cookie?), that are doing any significant amount of work at 192K or DXD or DSD. (NATIVE, not converted in any fashion) The workflows and affordability are still lacking.

It makes no sense today to NOT record in at least 24/176(192) since there are generational mixing and mastering losses. That is unless you are unconcerned about output quality.

When the resulting work is published in compressed MP3 format, however, who cares? :)
 
Do the research, google, you have had week(s) since the last discussion. Dr. Kunchur is a PHD. The AES is loaded with PHDs. They both recommend 24/96, not 16/44.1. I mentioned that in the other string and multiple times on this string. The PHD I addressed is

A "confound" is an aspect to address as it will skew the results. For instance, Cochlea Fatigue, Habituation to Stimuli. If you do not address them, the results will be skewed towards no sonic difference. Sight is not the only confound.

If you want to say "confounding variables", then do so.
Calling confounding variables "confounds" does not make any more sense than when you did it in that other thread and were told by a dozen people you were/are wrong.

Further, your posts continue to read like a transcription of Chance the gardener speaking.

You use words and phrases that may somehow relate to a conversation, but really have no meaning.

I can do the same regarding any subject, but it doesn't mean I am ADDING to the conversation.
