I need a couple of the Toshiba 2SA1306 driver transistors. Does anyone have a source to purchase them from?

MJE15033 / 2SA1837/KTA1659A are all possible replacements.

Over in the Yamaha forum the KTA1659A has gotten some good reviews . I believe its a Korean made semi.

I think I have the Data sheet somewhere .

Digikey has the 2SA1837

Please note:- Toshiba haven't made these transistors for over 20 years. Any offered new are likely to be fakes - and these are around. Unless you can find some genuine good used ones your only option is to find a substitute.

I found some new old stock from a reputable supplier for the complimentary 2SC3298. It’s the drivers for a Sansui a907. Was hoping to keep it original. But, yes I am aware of fakes.

I have had bad luck with recently with the onsemi 32/33. 940/2073? I have the 1837/2SC4793 pairs but they don’t appear to be as robust and not sure about the curves. I do have the 4 pairs of originals which test within spec but the outputs shorted and that always gets me concerned and wanted to replace. I am not familiar with the kta1695’s.

The KTA devices are great, nearly the same as the Toshiba devices, the Toshiba having slightly better SOA at higher voltages.

I have plenty of both the KEC and Toshiba, the 2SA1306 I have are the “B” variant which are just higher voltage. From what I understand KEC worked with Onsemi to make many of their semiconductors.

I can help you out with either, just reach out.

The official Toshiba replacement for 2sa1306 is 2sa1943. The 2sa1943 is still made and available.

Edit: I stand corrected. I was looking at the 1302 not the 1306

Unless I’m confusing something the 2SA1306 is a TO220 generally used to drive outputs, has a very high Ft and lower cob which makes it quite desirable. The 2SA1943 is a TO264 used as the output stage. A nice device, similar to the MJL0302.

Hi Jeffry!

I have plenty of those.
If you still need them send me PM with address and I will ship some.
They are mostly ex-equipment, but all I have used so far have been fine. (I will test before shipping)

I'm psyched with this transistor. How do you guys compare this to the K135-J50 early transistors when it comes to built to last.?
