DQ-10 value? $2500 for two pairs??

DQ-10 is a 300-500 speaker depending on condition, mirroring and stands.

Combined they would have cost $250, by the time they sold (or the sellers gave up on CL) one pair was $100 and the other was $150. And each posting was renewed at least once. So maybe I can see a premium for condition, but not 20x.

Apart from his ridiculous price, if the top pair is not mounted upside down the drivers would not line up and consequently would not image at all.

If they did line up $600-700 range, unless of course you happen to find just the right buyer. I had a pair of stacked DQ-10's and I was a bit surprised how difficult it was to sell them. They are monsters.

Actually, I have seen Dahlquist 10s in that lighter color. Interesting speakers stands, I've only seen the tall, side mounted stands. I was happy to get $500 for my 10s, but that was almost 10 years ago.

2 pair with the stands recently sold on ebay for $600 complete, and in what appeared to be far better than "fair" condition.

I paid $250 for mine. A friend has a very clean pair for sale with fancy stands that he wants $600 for and they sit... I don't think $600 is TOTALLY outrageous for a pair of these in great shape, but there are some other pretty serious contenders on the used market at $600 if you are willing to wait for the right deal.. ADS L-910's for one (IMO). For the $2500 he's asking you could have Altec 19's, Klipschorns, Dynaudio etc. Don't get me wrong, I lOVE the DQ-10's, but c'mon...
