Dual 604 worthy of consideration?

Can probably get the headshell with it but maybe not. No dust cover.
"Weak and distant" output. He thinks caps.

What say you?

Turntables don't have caps. Probably plugged into line level input. Get it with the head shell if you can, it's a fairly decent table otherwise.

I had a 604 for almost 30 years. I never ever had an issue with it. I sold it because I found and refurbished a 1229q.

Turntables certainly do have caps. Weak output could mean a variety of issues.

The only capacitor(s) a turntable might have is an AC motor start cap. Without more info, the symptom sounds like an incorrect connection or faulty tonearm wiring.
