What are the dimensions? Looks like my pair of EV Royals, which are 36" tall, 24" wide, 18" deep. Mine were given to me with trashed drivers and are pretty beat up but salvageable. I think they were hung in a disco somewhere. When I get time, I plan to install Altec 846b guts in them.

I have a similar one with the mid also installed, had a EV M1832 I think and the X8 and X36 and the L-pads, but mine was in a rectangular simple speaker box style cabinet.
Cool.
Srinath.

The base is wrong to be a factory Aristocrat, but there are a lot of home made aristocrat cabs out there. I am in the middle of a restoration on a pair I have. Good luck with yours! Plenty of folks find one, now just get the second one and you are off to the races :)

Side moulding held on with countersunk screws. Looks like somebody’s added base needs to come off to remove the bottom moulding.

Got a shot of the crossover. These are usually filled with tar and not recappable?

There are some brave ones here who have devised ways to melt the tar out of these. Others have been fortunate enough to be able to get to the caps in the tar. I removed the X36, added a simple 1.0uf cap, and crossed mine over at a much higher frequency. Didn't feel the need for having the pot adjustment. Nice find!

Blonde wood hiding under that stain. Tar filled x36 crossover. Two way set up.

Looks good. I think your cabinet is walnut veneer. The cabinet I have that I suspect was a kit has that same "flecked" appearance on the top panel.

Mine are getting a full range driver with no crossover for now. If crossovers go back into these, I will probably just build new crossovers and put them on top of the cabinets.

I am thinking about adding the binding posts inside the back horn of the cabinet, on the part that slopes from top to bottom. Keeps everything neat, and no wires visible from the back running up into the horn. The other option is just a small terminal block mounted to the bottom of the horn in the back.

Reviving this thread for some advice;

By dumb luck I found a cheap match to this cabinet--though it is a factory built unit in a different finish. I also tracked down Sp12b's for both. Though one had an x36 and a t35 and the other did not.

I thought I could convince myself to live without the t35, but then made the mistake of rewiring it--and it definitely brings some things to the fore missing without it. So now I have another t35 on order that I need to attempt the voice coil and diaphragm surgery on. But it doesnt seem worth spending the money on an x36--im tempted to rebuild clones from scratch. I have found the schematic for the x36 online. but,

can anyone provide a spec for the L pad and a wiring diagram for the SP12b, t35, and x36 combination? I did not expect the "stacked" l-pad with 4 wires in this setup.

Thanks in advance for any help.
