Just FLAC'd the 2 discs up this afternoon and have begun a musical experience that only the Orb can bring. This may have just become my favorite Orb album...? And I think it's just a plain audio cd, not a SACD like it shows in the link.

I'm off to return my mind to a Jell-Orb state

Archived radio sets



Listening to a few archived shows by one of my favorite DJs in the world, DJ M.P.

He plays a show on certain Sundays (don't know his exact schedule) on the White channel over at Globalbeats.fm called Progressive Elements where he plays an awesome progressive trance show. I've been listening to this kid for over 5 years now. He usually plays solid tracks (only a few vocals) and he mixes beautifully!

Currently playing is "Globalbeats.fm Guest Mix (02-10-06)" followed by his latest trio of Progressive Elements shows, pE 048, pE 049 and finally pE 050 which just aired this past Sunday.

If you get a chance to check him out, I'd suggest you do because the kid is a really good DJ!!

on the vinyl/headphone rig


I recently put this rig after I made the revelation that had been staring me in the face since the 90's... all my favorite music (Techno, IDM, experimental, Drum n Bass, Dubstep, Nu Breaks/etc/etc) is on vinyl! I never thought of the idea of listening to it from the perspective of an "audiophile" vs. a "DJ". I just finally connected the dots that since so many others out there love their jazz and classical and 70's cheesy rock on vinyl, why wouldn't I get the same level of enjoyment out of "my" type of music??

So now I'm on the hunt to build up a collection...


I didn't read through this whole thread, but I see at least in a recent post someone else rockin the wax. Since I put started listening to vinyl/tubes/headphones my 2ch server/tube rig hasn't even been powered up!
