Electro now playing thread?

Megabass 2, mixed by Darren Ash & Martin Smith

This is a collection that now could be considered "classic" dance/house/techno. It's got 2 megamixes, the first being mostly from the late 80's and early 90's. Second one is mostly disco (ugggh) mixed with a few later 80's tracks. There's about 25-30 tracks in each megamix. I really notice the different mixing styles used in the early 90's by these DJ's. There's so much sampling and oversampling being used back then, which I don't really notice much in todays DJ sets.

I've got Megabass 2 & Megabass 3, and am still looking for the original. An old friend had that first one (on cassette even), which I want to complete the mini-collection. I just found Megabass 2 the other day at a used record shop.

Very good stuff, even for 20 year old "electro" music :music:.

I've been busy the past few days re-ripping my DJ mix cd's to FLAC. I just found out that foobar2000 plays these files without adding a gap between tracks. I've never had any luck using WAV files played back with MMJB, WMP or Winamp. So I've got many dozens of cd's I'll be (re)ripping and converting.

Anyhoo, currently listening to LTJ Bukem - Mixmag Live! Vol. 3

Great early DnB set by one of the best DJs in the world!

Currently playing mp3's consisting of:

LTJ Bukem's Progression Sessions 3, 4 & 5 (all disc 2)

This is in celebration of ordering 7 ←edit LTJ cds through Amazon, all used but supposedly in very good condition. I ended up buying the following CDs:

LTJ Bukem:
• Producer 01
• Producer 05
• Progression Sessions 1, 4, 5, 6, 7

It's gonna be a good Halloween, which is about when I'll get these I think...? I'll finally be able to replace my shoddy mp3 rips of Progression Sessions 4 & 5, plus I'll have three new ones to listen to :) I can hardly wait

Sarah Calsworth - Short & Sweet DNB

I'm quite happy that I already got confirmation that 5 of the 7 LTJ CDs I ordered ↑ are already shipped (I hope the others are also packed in there, but I got confirmation for 5 :)).

This new set of Sarah's is as named, short & sweet, with some slightly aggressive DnB mixed by my favorite (and therefore the best) DJ in the world :blah: :D.

I'll be playing several of her sets today following this one as I seem to be in a Sarah mood today :music:

InPSYsor (the Cutting Edge) - mixed by TwoHardCore

A set I made early last year with some wicked Progressive Psychedelic Trance tracks. Mixing isn't too bad either IMO ;). Here's the tracklist:

inPSYsors - a PSYchedelic mix chewed up by TwoHardCore
01. Feuerhake - Elmazing Vibes
02. Day.Din - Halkidiki
03. Ovnimoon - Dual Nash
04. Neelix - I Didn't Mean to Cry
05. Feuerhake - No (DJ Feuerhake remix)
06. Chris Pointdexter - Darkness (Ticon remix)
07. Protonica - Upstream (Progenitor remix)
08. Ritmo - Wake Up
09. Nok vs Ritmo - Multistop
10. ARW - Searching for New Levels
11. Ace Ventura - The Spark
12. Symphonix - Paradise
13. Day.Din & Alfredo Garcia - Ghost (Bitmonx & DJ Fabio remix)
14. V-Tunes - Electra
15. Nasa - Legolam
16. System Nipel - Russian Gangsters

Feedback is welcome too btw...

Also, has anyone ever ordered "used" CDs through Amazon? It does seem like it would be easier than buying through Ebay, which I've not yet done. The prices I found through Amazon were much better (on the whole), and everything is a "Buy it Now" price.

After gettng an immediate response and shipment on my first order, I browsed Amazon for more LTJ Bukem CDs and ordered 4 more today (from the same seller). Since these are all "used", I wonder what happens if any of the product is damaged.

Anyhow, I'm just excited that I should have 11 new LTJ compilations in a month or so, and decided to pump up one of the best mixes I've ever done. If anyone wants to check it out, the link is bolded above.

Cheers,
