Electro now playing thread?

Well it's still in my "basket" and the price has gone down a couple bucks since I balked....nice to know that it's as good as I suspected

My only complaint is it is not long enough :D

It is split into two tracks, Metallic Side and Sphere Side, so technically there are only two songs, but it really is a mix of several expanded over the entire set. Nice guitar work, mixing effects, and bass. It just seemed natural for them to join forces.

Well I've finally ordered Metallic Spheres today, along with a bunch more "Looking Good Records" compilations. Quite a haul I'm waiting for once again and I'm really excited about the new Orb disc which should arrive soonest, or at least I hope!

I keep buying all the used stuff from the same seller in the UK via Amazon. Here's what's on the "music" list:

• The Orb featuring David Gilmour - Metallic Spheres ← I assume that's Alex & David in the video on David's website...?

Compilations
• Points in Time 4
• Points in Time 5
• Points in Time 6
• Points in Time 8
• Earth 4 ← first time I ordered this, it didn't make it past QC so they cancelled
• Looking Back, Volume 1

All of the compilations except Earth 4 are double CDs with one being a DJ mix. I'm going to have quite a nice GLR collection once I'm finished!

After saying all of this, I'm currently listening to "DJ Double D - Trocadero Transfer, side B"

Been on a norwegian trip lately.
Can't get enough of Gammal Rørsle by Karl Seglem - http://www.linnrecords.com/recording-ossicles.aspx
A few Mari Boine Remixes on Spotify ( http://www.amazon.com/Aint-Necessarily-Evil-Mari-Boine/dp/B0015967SE )
Ugress got some heavy attention lately as well.
Other than that, Woolfy vs. Projections and all Invisible Conga People put out.

Almost forgot - the old Biosphere albums - Microgravity especially

Some great stuff! The Gula Gula remix is outstanding. :thmbsp:

Oh, congrats on your first post and welcome to AK

I have Solar Fields - Movements playing as we speak. Definitely my favorite album of 2009 along with Shpongle - Ineffable Mysteries From Shpongleland

Just picked this up for $2 at the local record place :thmbsp:

DJ Food - Kaleidoscope

It's here!!

I'm currently listening to The Orb featuring David Gilmour - Metallic Spheres.

I'll be playing this throughout the weekend to get a good taste. I like what I've heard thus far, but I like pretty much all of the Orb's material I've heard so that's not at all unexpected for me.

Looking Back

I'm a bit disappointed as I didn't get the *bonus disc*, but it's still a great album. It's a very nice album if you like Drum & Bass, the mellower kind.

Also disappointed in that the seller who I bought these from on Amazon has raised prices by 50% for all the titles I've looked at over the past week... :nono: This will put an end to most of my on-line music shopping.

Listening to Fabriclive 46 again. I think this may have turned into one of my all time favorite CDs!!! This is just wicked stuff. Here's an interview with the man himself, with some of the tracks from Fabriclive 46 playing in the background.

I highly suggest you all to get yourselves this CD! :music::banana:

THC :smoke:

I haven't got that one yet.....How is it ???

I think I like his own stuff better (he only has three songs on this one) but considering it is a DJ Mix album by him, all in all not too bad. A little more rap than I am used to in the beginning, but as it progresses there are the instrumental blendings of various genres I have come to expect from him. I think if you generally like NoW you won't be disappointed. However, if your exposure is only Chi Mai and Morse, you may find it a little too hard. I hope that made sense. :D
